Blame It On The A-a-a-a-a-a-alcohol!
Saturday, December 31, 2011nail a college drop out
Welp tis' New Years Eve! And If you're sober enough to read this now, to you I say, congrats!
Aside from prom nights, college campuses, St. Patrick's Day--or 9am on any given Tuesday morning for some people--this is probably the most drunken day off the year. If you're like me and you don't drink (either because you don't like alcohol or you're underage) This post is for you! Heck, even if you do like to drankity-drank this is for you!

Would it be Christmas without Gingerbread Men? Of course not!
I started with two coats of China Glaze Blonde Bombshell and stamped the Gingerbread Man using a mixture of Essie Lady Godiva and OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys with Bundle Monster plate BM-222.

Twas A Haul Before Christmas!
Monday, December 19, 2011nail a college drop out
Last Monday I did some not-too-last-minute Christmas shopping and being the selfish only child I am, I had to get something for myself as well.
L-R For Audrey, Evening Seduction, Fast Forward Top Coat, Dorothy Who?
L-R Silver Chrome, Turquoise Chrome, Gold Chrome, Green Chrome
I got the color pens at Dollar Tree for, you guessed it, one dollar each; CVS has them for $9.49 a piece.
And I had a $10 off a $20 purchase at Sally Beauty Supply so I got four bottles of China Glaze for $2.50 each!
Tis the season!

More Half Moon Mani Madness
Saturday, December 10, 2011nail a college drop out
Let's face it I've been way too tired to do any actual nail art these days. What's my way around it? Half moons! They're like Covergirl, easy, breezy, and beautiful. So without further ado here is another half moon mani.
*As usual this shot is blurred for holographic goodness.
For this mani I used two coats of Color Club Age of Aquarius topped with two coats of NYX Girls Spotlight
Are half moons a justifiable excuse for nail art?

Glitter Bomb For The Holidays
Wednesday, December 07, 2011nail a college drop out
Sunday night I went to a Christmas party with a friend of mine. While I didn't take pictures of my cute outfit, curly hair, friends, food, festivities, or my horrid attempt at the dreaded Cha Cha Slide; I did take pictures of my glitter drenched nail beds.
How did I get from naked nails to that? Welp, here we go!
Step 1: One coat of Sinful Colors Snow Me White
Step 2: One coat of Savina Fairy Dust
Step 3: (What I'm about to say sounds crazy. Just trust me.) Perform a water marble with glitter polish!!!!
*L-R Gingerbread, Beyond the Mistletoe, Holiday Splendor, and Sugar Plum Fairy
Step 4: Seal with your favorite top coat. My personal fav is China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat.
Since it was a holiday party why not use holiday lacquers?
Tune in. Drop out. Love polish.

Lunch Break Shenanigans: Color Club Edition

We've already established my deep affections for nail lacquer and not eating on my lunch break. So let's just get on with the pictures.

L-R Holiday Splendor from Beyond The Mistletoe & Age Of Aquarius
Age of Aquarius is much more vibrant and a tad more blue in real life.
I suspect A LOT more posts like this in my immediate 60 minute future.

There's Nothing Like Free Nail Polish
Monday, December 05, 2011nail a college drop out
On Halloween Zoya decided to treat their fans to two free bottles of polish and just pay the shipping. So, essentially the polishes were two for $6.95. Me being the little polish hoarder I am, I used both of my Zoya accounts. All together I ordered Crystal, Robyn, and two bottles of Luna.
You can't beat $free.99

So, I was eating some girl scout cookies the other day thought, "What's a better way to commemorate such a great snack than a manicure?"
And here we are! An ode to my favoritest girl scout cookie ever, THIN MINTS!!!!!
For this mani I used Color Club Edie and OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys.
If only Thin Mints made me thin.

NOTD: China Glaze Sunset Sail
Thursday, December 01, 2011nail a college drop out
Today I decided to wear China Glaze Sunset Sail that I bought earlier this week. You can see that mini haul here. It's unusual for me to wear a polish so soon after purchase. I typically buy them, they sit around, and then eventually I use them in my nail art. But this color is so perfect alone I just had to!
It's nude with hints of peach and the shimmer seen in the bottle isn't that noticeable on the nail. Photoed above is three coats. It was kinda streaky, maybe I had a bad bottle. I really love this color and I can't wait to wear this on my toes this summer!
Dear Winter,
Hurry up and be over with.

This Is What Happens When I Shop On My Lunch Break
Tuesday, November 29, 2011nail a college drop out
Ahoy matey! I went shopping on my lunch break and bumped into an unexpected clearance at Beauty Plus Salon and this is the tale of my findings.
L-R Sunset Sail, Lighthouse, Starboard. All of these are from China Glaze's Anchors Away collection for spring 2011.
Sunset Sail is the perfect nude with a hint of peach.
Lighthouse is a bright glass flecked yellow. In my opinion it could be worn alone with some visible nail line or layered over another yellow creme, white, or silver.
Starboard is more of a vibrant darker olive green.
I found these on clearance for $3.95 each. They had a few bottles from older collections, but these were the only ones that caught my attention.
Hip hip hooray for clearance polish!!!

OH SH*T, I walked into Icing and what did I find? Probably the best glitter they ever named! Is it original? Not exactly. Is it a Deborah Lippmann dupe? Not exactly. Is it absolutely awesome? Hell yes!
Don't believe me? See the swatches for yourself.
