I recently got my hands on the Dazzle Dry 3 Piece Nail System and Dazzle Dry Calypso Romance from their Summer Scape (Summer 2012) collection. Their claim is that it dry manicures complete in 5 minutes.
Step 1: Clean your nails thoroughly and wipe your nails with a cotton ball moistened with Dazzle Dry Nail Prep. (This step isn't necessary for acrylic nails).
Step 2: generously apply 1 coat of Dazzle Dry Base Coat to entire gel or natural nail surface. Repeat on all nails. Let dry completely for 1-2 minutes. (Not necessary for acrylic nails. When exposed to cool temperatures, the base coat may thicken or gel. To liquefy, simply immerse bottle in warm water before using.)
Step 3: (For acrylic nails, start here.) Apply 1 coat of Dazzle Dry Nail lacquer to all nails. Apply a 2nd coat if desired for a deeper, rich color coverage.
After I followed these instructions to the T; I downloaded a stopwatch/timer app for my Android and put this 5 minute claim to the test.

I set my timer for exactly 5 minutes and waited. The aforementioned amount of time passed and my nails were surprisingly solid. So solid that I didn't even dent my polish when I took a potty break once I finished. (Don't give me the side eye, you know you always have to pee right after you finish painting your nails too!)

Today I have a leopard print mani to show using four QRS nail lacquers and the knock off Q1 Charming plate.
This is the first time I did a leopard print mani that wasn't freehand. I used a knock off Q1 Charming plate that I bought from NinjaPolish.com and stamped with QRS Nail Lacquer in 24KT.

Application for Belmont Garden, Water Nymph, & Amp'd were the same; opaque in three coats with a satin-like finish.
24KT was opaque in one coat and dried to a rather dull metallic finish, but a layer of top coat makes it glossy.

Today I'm going to show you my favorite of the bunch, Waves!
All colors are shown at three coats, but the thumb and middle fingers are opaque in two.
This set ranges from blue to green and has two cremes, two shimmers, and a glitter. Come on now, who doesn't love glitter?

Today, June 16th, 2012, Nail A College Drop Out is a year old!!! To commemorate this momentous occasion I came up with some nail art based on repeated suggestions--Nicki Minaj Starship nail art!
While I'm not at all a fan of the let-me-put-my-pussy-on-your-sideburns-singers music or OPI collection; her status as a crossover artists and pop icon are inescapable. Because I've had multiple requests for this, I sat down, man-ed up, watched the video and this is what I came up with...

How did I do this, you ask? It was actually pretty simple.
L-R Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Whirlwind White, Icing Peachy Keen, Icing Funky Femme, Dare To Wear Anonymity, Dear To Wear Teddy, & N.Y.C. Polyester Pink Creme
1. Paint your nails with one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Whirlwind White.
2. Sponge on a gradient using Icing Peachy Keen & Funky Femme.
3. Splatter with Dare To Wear Anonymity & Dare To Wear Teddy.
4. And finally, freehand some stars using N.Y.C. Polyester Pink Creme.
And just for fun; here is a pic I took (with my camera phone) with my new ring!
This mani has a little of everything! Neons, splatter, gradients, and freehand painting!

A few nights ago I had a sudden burst of energy. Keep in mind this was at night; so I was w i d e a w a k e with nothing better to do than paint my nails all prettyful... three times!
I used Gleam In Blue on my index finger and as a base for my water marble on my middle and ring finger.
Gleam In Blue was opaque in one cost, while Walk On Air (pinky finger) was opaque in two.

Wednesday, June 13, 2012nail a college drop outWell kids, today is hump day and I finally have a day off work! So what am I to do? You mean other than paint my nails? I’m going shopping! Chances are that if you’re reading this about an hour after I publish it I’m at Victoria’s Secret’s Semi Annual Sale!! Since I’m probably overly hyped about this I’m going to do something quick and easy. Another border mani!
I used three coats of Icing Glamorous and made the frame using my Nailtini nail art brush and Nailtni Admiral Perry from the Janie Bryant for Nailtini Garden Party Mini Bar.

All are three coats.
I decided to play around with these guys and make multicolored block sections with them using stripping tape.
For whatever reason my camera did not want to capture all of these guys accurately; so please refer to the swatches beneath the bottle shots.
Overall these were pretty easy to work with, the only one I had a problem with was Pink Paradise's slightly streaky application but after three coats it evened itself out.
