Before we get started, I know you haven’t heard much from me
on the blog or any of my social media platforms in the last seven days. Well
the internet is currently down at my place so for now I’m doing a bit of
blogging from a coffee shop. Does posting from a local coffee spot that offer
free wifi make me a really blogger now? Anyway, today I have a quick, easy, and
fun nail art look using Barielle’s Velvets Collection for spring 2014.
The night I did these, I was pressed for time but still
wanted some not-so-simple nails. So I took a gander through the top drawer of
my Helmer—where I stash my “to review” goodies—and this collection kinda just
jumped out at me.
The first time I saw this collection in-person a few shades
somewhat reminded me of the Zoya Naturel Collection. Soon after that
observation was made, I realized this was a 6-piece set. One piece in addition
to Barielle’s usual 5-pack.
I really liked the idea of somehow combining all six shades
so I used My Tan Blazer on my thumb,
Upton Girl on my index, Cream ‘N Sugar on my middle, My Week Away on my ring, and Sexy Mood on my pinky. After I laid down my base colors I decided to splatter the one remaining color, A Little Exotic, across all of my nails to create a sense of uniformity.
What surprised me the most is that my favorite of the bunch
was Cream ‘N Sugar. I usually lean to bright, opaque crèmes, but there was
something about the sheer shade I couldn’t help but be attracted to.
Quick side note: These pics were taken after a week of wear. Not too bad right?
All lacquers in the Barielle’s Velvets collection (along
with every other Barielle nail shades) are available on Barielle.com for $8 per
.45 fl oz bottle.
I’ve got one more Barielle collection for spring 2014 to
show you and I think you’ll love it! In the mean, are you as excited as I am
that Barielle is doing 6-piece sets now? Let chat in the comments.
Tune in. Drop out. Love polish.Press Sample
