Saturday morning I did it for the 'Gram! I was headed to work when I looked at my seriously bright & holo-y nails and knew I had to take a picture of them for IG. As the day progressed I realized this kind of neon-holographic combination had to be blogged about, and here we are!
After laying down my current base coat combo of Duri Rejuvacote, followed up with Barielle Clearly Noticeable Nail Thickener; I used three coats of Dare to Wear Honeysuckle and two coats of gLORIous Spectraflair Topcoat #35.
This is the second time I've used the Spectraflair top coat and I've pretty much decided that I have found the absolute perfect holographic top coat.
I just keep asking myself, "Briana, why have you not purchased this baby sooner?"
I'm really in love with this mani and pictures just don't do this damn Spectraflair justice!
Here's to a summer filled with neon & holographic nail beds. Cheers!
Tune in. Drop out. Love polish.

This afternoon I was laying around in bed watching documentaries on Netflix when it hit me. My little baby blog turns 3 today! With all of the crazy life stuff I've got going on right now I completely forgot and have nothing planned. Until I went thru my blog's archives (very cringe worthy if your up for the challenge) I decided I should recreate the very first nail art entry to Nail a College Drop Out!
I wanted to do something else for today's mani but that can wait I suppose. Neon flowers are more fun right? Right.
From thumb to pinky I used Icing Grande Margarita, China Glaze In The Lime Light, Dare To Wear Teddy, Color Club Psychedelic Scene, and China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy.
Then I stamped with Wet n Wild Wild Shine Black Créme and Bundle Monster plate BM-225.
My little nail polish corner of the internet has been here for three years! Thanks for sticking around this long!! As always continue to...
Tune in. Drop out. Love polish.

How I Wore It: Zoya Summer Magical Pixie
Friday, June 13, 2014nail a college drop out
Press Sample
The summer season is vastly approaching and summer collections are rolling in! Today I've got Zoya's Summer Magical Pixie Collection.
When I first saw the press info for this collection I thought I would like these so much more than the original Magical Pixies (nail art here), and now that I have them, I've proven myself right
As you may know I have a thing for wearing more than one color per mani and this trio makes it so easy to fulfill my multicolored whims
Shown above is three thin coats each of Bar (thumb and index), Ginni (middle), and Arlo (ring and pinky), aka my favorite of the bunch.
The formula on these is thin but easily build-able. If I had to rank the Summer Magical Pixies, they would fall second, right after regular Pixie Dusts and just before the first series of Magical Pixies.
Magical Pixies retail for $10 each or $30 for the trio sampler on Zoya.com.
Are you still on the texture trend? What about for summer? Let's chat in the comments!
Tune in. Drop out. Love polish.

When Nails Imitate Art: Sue Tsai
Monday, June 09, 2014nail a college drop outNothing To Disclose It's Monday and I have another installment of When Nails Imitate Art! If you're always on IG like I am, you've probably seen tons of nail art inspired by Sue Tsai and loved it. So I thought I'd try to finally execute a mani based on a piece of her work as well.
This took me about three hours to complete but I have to say that I love the way it turned out!
Quick side note. I officially re-enrolled in college today!!!!!!
What do you think of this installment of When Nails Imitate Art?

Urban Decay Chaos & Bang Nail Art and Review

The summer collections are rolling in and summer-like weather is finally reaching my neck of the woods here in Western New York! So what's not to love these days?
Anyway, Urban Decay released a duo of nail colors that I was instantly attracted to and I just had to see what UD is working with.
When I got these two shades I couldn't decide if I wanted to wear them alone are do some stripped nail art with them so I went with both.
Prior to this mani I hadn't used any Urban Decay products and had no idea as what to expect from their lacquers but I was pleasantly surprised with the formula and the pigmentation of these two shades.
Chaos (cobalt blue with pearl shimmer throughout) was very sheer after the first coat causing my immediate thought to be, "well I guess this one will be a 3-4 coater," so imagined how happy I was to see full coverage after the second coat.
Bang (orange-red with subtle blue shimmer) became fully opaque in two coats--just like Chaos--but on the other hand, Bang was very promising from the very first coat of color.
At first glance I liked the colors but didn't really see how they fit together, but then I noticed the subtle blue shimmer in chaos and it all made sense.
Urban Decay Nail Color retails for $15 per 9mL bottle on UrbanDecay.com.
How are you feeling about this Urban Decay duo for summer 2014?
Tune in. Drop out. Love polish.
