Zoya Ultra PixieDust Swatch & Review
Monday, September 29, 2014nail a college drop outPress Sample Happy Mani Monday folks! Today I've got a swatch and review of Zoya's latest addition to their PixieDust line. That's right, it's Ultra PixieDust time.
L-R Noir | Arianna | Oswin
="font-size: small;">In the beginning of this month I showed you the press release and a retail display for this collection, and now it's time for a swatch & review!
Let's kick things off with Oswin
Not being a huge red fan, I expected to not like shade whatsoever, but turns out it wasn't so bad after all. Oswin dried to a very matte finish while the two remaining shades dried to a more jelly-like, semi-matte finish.
Next up is Arianna
Arianna is described by Zoya as a "[b]lue-toned red wine..." and I'd have to agree that the description is pretty dead on.
If you've been reading Nail A College Drop Out for any length of time--or even just read the post--you'd know that red nail polish isn't something I gravitate to. So when I saw Noir, I just knew I had to love it.
Well now that I have it, I don't like as much as I thought I would.
Let's end the review of the trio with Noir
Like Arianna, Noir dried to a jelly-like semi-matte finish. In real life, this lacquer isn't nearly as glossy as my camera/lighting set-up makes it appear.
Each shade shown in this post is three thin coats. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the color selection. In fact I could make a plea to Zoya, it would be that they go back to just doing the original PixieDust formula. Pretty please Zoya! With hearts, cherries, and rainbow sprinkles on top!?
Are you a fan of the Ultra PixieDusts? Or are you tired of texture polish all together?
Tune in. Drop out. Love polish.
