Nothing To Disclose Sometime last month, one of the members of a Facebook group I'm apart of posted some info about a gelled acetone solution she picked up at Walmart.


I've been wanting a gelled acetone remover for years--reason being, I thought it would make for easier cuticle clean up. But alas, I've only even seen something like that available from sellers in China.

So now that a gelled acetone solution is available stateside, I had to try it out for myself. And yes, I did immediately run out to Walmart the very next day to find it.

nail-aid's Acetone Power Gel comes in two versions, one for "stubborn dark polish" and the other for glitter and nail art.

Let's start with the one for dark polishes

The 3 step instructions read:
1. Dip to fully coat nail. Remove nail from jar. Dip nails 1 at a time. CLOSE JAR LID TIGHTLY.
2. Let NO-RUB sit on nail for 45 seconds. Do Not Rub.
3. Press Paper towel over nail. Just wipe off. Wash hands with soap & rinse.

And now for the one for glitter and nail art
The three step instruction for this one read:
1. Dip to fully coat nail. Remove nail from jar. Dip nails 1 at a time. CLOSE JAR LID TIGHTLY.
2. To remove glitter & nail art let NO-RUB sit on nail for 4 minutes. Do Not Rub.
3. Press Paper towel over nail. Just wipe off. Wash hands with soap & rinse.

Overall review:

• These both have a very strong acetone smell.
• After removal there was still some nail polish left on the nail bed so I did have to wipe it off using regular acetone.
• They both leave a super sticky feeling after removal, and it is a must to wash your hands with soap and water.
• As far as removing nail art and dark nail polish, both products do the exact same thing. I tried both direction on both products.
• As far as it goes for removing glitter, I had to let it sit for 8 minutes to remove the glitter from this mani. And even after that I still had to scrap it off with my fingers.
• It is worth mentioning how well it liquifies nail glue in two minutes. 

Overall, you only need one of these. You know, unless you really really wanna spend an additional $3.98 for the same thing in different packaging.

BONUS REVIEW:
This was sitting right next to the NO-RUB products so I picked it up just to try it out.

This bottle is a flip-top that you squeeze directly on to the nail. The above picture is just to show what the solution looks like.

 The Instructions per the back of the box are:
1. Apply "gelled" solution generously to nails.
2. Let sit for two minutes.
3. Wipe away with cotton ball.

I only tested it to remove glitter and the results were dismal at best.

Overall review:

• After waiting a total of eight minutes the glitter still didn't loosen it's grip from my nail.
• It doesn't have a strong chemical smell, in fact, it smells quite pleasant.

I wouldn't recommend that this particular remover be added to your arsenal. Actually, don't waste time even looking at it on the shelf. You're welcome.

The water decals aren't nearly as opaque as I Heart Nail Art's Etsy listing makes them seem. So if I decide to redo this mani I'll just use the TV decal and hand paint the stripes and the test screen, along with dropping either Ooh La Lacquer Hypnotize or Rainbow Polish Static TV.

• By far, my favorite luxury brand. Sadly, their no longer carried by anyone in the United States--unless you wanna pay an arm and a leg on evilBay.
• But whatever you do, do not buy Load. Worst. Formula. Ever. --All the other Illy's I own are fine though

Water marbles are usually pretty hit or miss with me but I'm okay with the outcome. At least for this round.

Not sure if my lack of words is because I'm too busy leering at my nails or if it's due to my lack of sleep.

Just like my last mani, the thumb is my favorite. I mean, how can I not love this camera charm?
