When Nails Imitate Art is back! Unsure what When Nails Imitate Art is? It's a long-running segment here where I take artworks of my choosing and attempt to transpose them on my nail beds.
Previous artists include Miguel, Dani Michelle, Michelle Robinson, Raheem Johnson, Lakwena Maciver, and Sue Tsai. And as the title suggests, today I've got a mani inspired by Ellsworth Kelly.
Spectrum I
Quick side note: this piece is currently on display at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
Ellsworth Kelly's Spectrum I first caught my attention on Instagram, my favorite app by the way. Once it had my attention I knew I had to make those simple multi-colored stripes mine in a way I knew best.
Aside from this being the first art inspired manicure I've done in awhile, it's also the first time I've used a matte top coat in a long time.

I began these nails at 6am and for some reason, I could not get it right. I'm just needed some sleep because there really isn't a reason for me to have had such a hard time with straight lines. I started these nails over three times before I finally got to the end result you seen now.
